Jason Rebello – piano; Orlando Le Fleming – bass; Jeremy Stacey – drums.
With sell-out performances at the prestigious Ronnie Scott’s Club in London this spring, Jason Rebello is a UK jazz pianist and composer who is at the top of his game, and we’re privileged to host his trio for a special acoustic performance
Jason’s programme will include a range of jazz standards, along with his own compositions, and the evening will include special tributes to jazz piano giant Oscar Peterson. At the same time, Jason’s treatments of modern classics such as Paul McCartney’s ‘Blackbird’ are not to be missed!
Jason hit the UK jazz scene at an early age, and by his twenties was regarded as a seasoned veteran, scooping the most prestigious jazz music awards over subsequent years. He has appeared with major jazz artists including Wayne Shorter, Gary Burton, Branford Marsalis, and Tim Garland, as well as crossing musical boundaries to work with Sting, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, and touring the world with guitar legend Jeff Beck.
By popular request from our Festival audiences, this set will feature unamplified piano, enabling us to enjoy the coolest of jazz in the beautiful surroundings and acoustics of Thaxted Parish Church.
This concert is sponsored by a friend of Thaxted Festival who wishes to remain anonymous.
