A swinging evening of big band music
Bringing their big band treatment to the works of George Gershwin, Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and others, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra has been delighting audiences across the UK and Europe with their dance band music from the 1920s and 30s for nearly five decades. After turning professional in 1975 the orchestra has appeared around the world, from Berlin to Hong Kong via Helsinki, Dublin, Abu Dhabi and Istanbul to the USA, where they have made five tours. Expect a night of swing nostalgia recreated by Duncan Galloway and today’s players – with a strong dose of down-to-earth British humour!
Pasadena Roof Orchestra is participating in an educational project with Thaxted Primary School, generously supported by Yardley’s Charity. As part of the project they will be holding a special session with pupils from the school in the afternoon of Friday 8 July.
