Prepare for a breathtaking evening of scintillating tango as this virtuoso quintet bring the sound of South America to Thaxted Festival. Craig Ogden is an acclaimed guitarist whose work spans classical and contemporary music, while accordionist extraordinaire Miloš Milivojević (as heard on Strictly Come Dancing!) has been described by The Times as ‘a hurricane of musical invention’. The group’s founder, violinist David Juritz, describes tango as ‘a kaleidoscope of emotions played with extraordinary sophistication, virtuosity and, most of all, a raw energy’. Their debut recording Dancing with Piazzolla was BBC Radio 3’s Album of the Week when it was released in spring last year. Expect works by Astor Piazzolla, Isaac Albéñiz and Django Reinhardt, together with contemporary compositions and some jazz influences. This will be an evening of excitement and raw emotion, with stunning musicianship!

‘An exciting, fiery and energetic performance to be enjoyed by all. I cannot recommend the London Tango Quintet enough.’ Stapleford Granary, Cambridge
