SIRINU at Thaxted Festival

Sirinu: Sir Goward the Coward. Join us with the whole family at Saffron Walden Museum as Sirinu bring to life the tale of Sir Goward the Coward and the Feasty Beasty in music and dance, with their early-music instruments.

Hopeless knight Sir Goward faces his fears as he ventures into the castle to face the Feasty Beasty. The hour-long performance is suitable for children aged 3-10 with their families, and there’ll be lots of audience participation! (Children must be accompanied by adults.) Then stay on for some organised craft activities for the young ones.

Sirinu ensemble specialises in the performance of medieval and renaissance music. Their children's shows are informed and inspired by the magical medieval tales of knights and their ladies. As a larger ensemble Sirinu has performed and broadcast throughout Europe and has received Continuo Foundation funding to tour and record a performance of medieval music for Tremula records.

“…this was a wonderfully enjoyable and engaging performance that really punched above its weight. The audience in Thaxted clearly loved it and were fully engaged, whilst this experienced reviewer was carried away as well.”

“2 terrific concerts I heard with London Mozart Players.”
