Join us for a relaxed afternoon recital with the dynamic Kleio Quartet, in Braintree Town Hall. Thaxted Festival is delighted to bring younger professional musicians to a wider audience, under our Developing Artists Programme.
Kleio Quartet will play two popular and accessible string quartets: Haydn’s String Quartet in D major, Op 76 No 5 and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E minor, Op 44 No 2. And we’re promised some surprise extras at the end of the programme!
A prize-winning ensemble formed in 2019, Kleio Quartet have performed in major international venues including London’s Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, and have held a residency at Snape Malting’s Britten-Pears Festival in Aldeburgh. They have performed internationally in Denmark and Germany, and hold current residencies in the Netherlands and France. For more details of the Quartet, see https://www.kleioquartet.com.
They are described by leading violinist Alina Ibragimova as: ‘A wonderfully dedicated group of musicians who bring assuredness and freshness to everything they play.’
