Mighty Like the Blues are a band of award-winning jazz soloists brought together by a deep and powerful commitment to the blues in all its forms. They feature world-class guitarist Jim Mullen, whose ‘endlessly attractive’ playing (The Guardian) has seen him collaborate with legendary acts including Average White Band, Terry Callier, and Jimmy Smith, amongst many others.

Mighty Like the Blues also features the highly respected alto saxophonist Sam Braysher, whose recent albums on the cult Fresh Sound New Talent label have garnered praise as 'delightful and surprising' (The Observer). Alongside him in the horn section is the much sought-after trumpet player Pete Horsfall, known for his collaborations with Kansas Smitty's, Guy Barker and Clare Teal amongst others, bringing his 'ravishing' (The Guardian) style to the group.

Master organist Mike Gorman, a first-call keyboard player for a host of international jazz and pop artists (Boy George, Van Morrison, Incognito) is at the keyboards, joined by one of the UK's pre-eminent jazz drummers Shaney Forbes, known for his work with the award-winning Empirical.

Expect an evening of blues in all styles, from low-down gut-bucket to sophisticated blues-ballad, all played with the group’s trademark heartfelt passion and intensity.
