The Choir of St George’s Chapel Windsor was founded in 1348 and has sung the services in the Chapel continuously since then, apart from during the Commonwealth period 1649-60. It comprises up to 23 choristers and 12 Lay Clerks, and the repertoire draws from music of all periods and traditions. Tours and appearances in Europe and overseas form a regular part of the Choir’s activity. Tonight’s performance features the rich tradition of English song as championed by English composers of the twentieth century, and culminates with Duruflé’s expansive and transcendent Requiem of 1947, written immediately after World War II.

Claire Seymour, in Seen and Heard International.
“…this was a wonderfully enjoyable and engaging performance that really punched above its weight. The audience in Thaxted clearly loved it and were fully engaged, whilst this experienced reviewer was carried away as well.”

“2 terrific concerts I heard with London Mozart Players.”

“I think Gustav is smiling down to see how his memory and that of his best friend and colleague Ralph Vaughan Williams are honoured by the expertly played pieces they both composed.”
