Our Launch Reception is open exclusively to all Thaxted Music Lovers, on Sunday 5 March at 3.30pm in Thaxted Parish Church, when Artistic Director Andrew Jenkins will present our 2023 season, and we'll enjoy wine and light refreshments.
During the afternoon we're excited to feature young percussionist Jordan Ashman. Jordan was overall winner of BBC's Young Musician of the Year 2022. Playing vibraphone, marimba, tuned percussion and much more with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, he astounded the judges with his talent.
Thaxted Festival has always been proud to present young artists at the early stages of their careers, many of whom have gone on to become world-class names. Jordan will be helping to launch our new Developing Artists Programme, in partnership with the Young Classical Artists Trust, YCAT, with a dedicated Fund which Thaxted Music Lovers will help to support.
Jordan will perform the following solo pieces during the afternoon:

Tickets are on sale to Thaxted Music Lovers at £15 each. Because we would like new audience members to experience Jordan's exciting playing, we are inviting our Music Lovers to bring young guests to the reception, at the special prices of £10 for age 30 and under, and £5 for age 18 and under.
