London Mozart Players with Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux

Friday 20 June, 7.30pm

Our Orchestra-in-Residence, London Mozart Players, returns to Thaxted to launch the festival in spectacular style. Rising-star violinist Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux takes centre stage for Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, a monumental work demanding both technical brilliance and emotional depth. The evening opens with Mozart’s lively overture to The Marriage of Figaro and concludes with his glorious ‘Jupiter’ Symphony. A night of majestic orchestral sound in the church’s breath-taking acoustics.

Nicky Spence: My Father’s Son

Sunday 22 June, 6.00pm

Acclaimed tenor Nicky Spence - winner of the BBC Music Magazine Personality of the Year and an OBE for services to music - delivers a deeply personal recital exploring father-son relationships. With a programme spanning Schumann, Fauré, Herbert Howells, Victoria Wood, Tim Minchin, and André Previn, this promises to be a moving and thought-provoking evening. Nicky comes to us direct from singing the lead role in Britten’s Peter Grimes with Welsh National Opera to sell-out audiences in Cardiff and on tour.
