Sumptuous Summer Success for Thaxted Festival 2025

It’s been a wonderful summer of music and events at Thaxted Festival 2025. Blessed with the warmest of weather on each weekend, we have enjoyed wonderful musicianship in the glorious surroundings of Thaxted’s Parish Church and United Reformed Church. And even our Family Event at Audley End Miniature Railway on the only rainy day was blessed with a break in the clouds for the music performance!

We will take away many memories: from sell-out orchestral concerts to opera, exciting emerging artists together with established star performers, and our classical music offering spiced up with tango and blues, there was something for all to enjoy. On our last night we were excited to hear London Mozart Players perform a new work devised together with our local primary school pupils – the music-lovers and musicians of the future!

Our artists have told us how much they have enjoyed performing with us, and have paid tribute to our appreciative and attentive audiences. And everyone has enjoyed our warm and welcoming atmosphere, with its hospitality marquee and plenty of opportunities for relaxation. Thaxted Festival is going from strength to strength and truly thriving here in North West Essex. Don’t just take our word for it – here’s what one prominent critic has said about their visits:

‘Unforgettable Thaxted recital: place, music and performance in perfect congruence.’

Colin Clarke, Seen and Heard International, review of Alexander Chance, countertenor, and Toby Carr, lute: Songs of Love and Loss, Sunday 22 June 2025.

‘I caught two other seriously good song recitals at this summer’s Thaxted Festival, both taking place in the magnificent medieval church that seems to float above the town as you approach it.’
