Volunteering with Thaxted Festival

Thaxted Festival depends on volunteers for its successful smooth operation across its annual summer season and for other regular events. Could you be part of our friendly Festival community, giving some of your time helping with preparation, working behind the scenes, or welcoming our audiences?

Taking place in the heart of the beautiful medieval town of Thaxted, the Festival is host to leading professional musicians across all styles and genres, for four weekends each June and July, and for spring and autumn events. It attracts audiences from near and far, many of whom return year after year to experience performances in this very special setting, and we are constantly welcoming new audience members.

At present we are particularly seeking volunteers to join the following established teams:

• Box office and ticketing support in the run-up to our summer season, and on concert nights. Training will be given in our up-to-date system.
• Lighting, sound and technical assistance.
• Support for our artists during set-up, rehearsal and performance times.
• Marketing and promotion support in planning and executing our communication through social media and traditional channels.

If you have skills or interests in any of these areas or would like to discuss any other support you could offer, we would love to hear from you. You will have the satisfaction of becoming part of a thriving cultural experience which has been at the centre of Thaxted life for over forty years, helping it to continue to grow and develop.
