We welcome pianist Tom Poster back to Thaxted Festival, with internationally-acclaimed violinist Elena Urioste for her first appearance. Their programme spans time and place, from contemporary English composer Mark Simpson, back to Elgar’s Sospiri, written on the verge of war in 1914, and on to Rebecca Clarke’s ethereal 1926 evocation of mood. The stateliness of Mozart’s sonata is paired with Strauss’s lyricism in the form.

#UriPosteJukeBox took shape during the lockdowns in 2020, when Elena and Tom posted videos from their home, responding to requests with innovative arrangements across all genres. With nearly 100 items now online, from classics to Glen Miller, Led Zeppelin, Disney, and much more, who knows what the jukebox will play today?
